Can you air fry frozen biscuits?

Yes!  The air fryer cooks perfect biscuits!  They are golden brown on the top and soft on the inside.  It only takes a few simple steps to have fluffy warm biscuits.

Why air fryer biscuits are so good

My go to breakfast is usually a bowl of oatmeal.  I make this for myself and my hubby most mornings, but sometimes I can tell he's over the oatmeal and craving something a little less healthy.  Here's where this air fryer frozen biscuits recipe really comes in handy.  I can make this in just 15 minutes for an easy breakfast.  No biscuit dough to clean up or cookie sheet required!

    • quicker because the air fryer does not need to preheat.  No need to wait for a conventional oven to heat up.
    • frees up space in your oven if you are cooking other things.
    • great for anyone in a dorm room (check with your university's guidelines on whether they are permitted)
    • the outside of the biscuits are perfectly golden brown and soft and buttery on the inside

Key Ingredients for Air fryer Biscuits

I used Pillsbury Grands biscuits.  They come frozen in a bag that makes them convenient for cooking exactly the amount that you need.  Any frozen biscuit or even a dinner roll would work.  You could even use your own favorite recipe of homemade biscuits.  Of course the cooking time may need to be adjusted depending on the size and thickness of the biscuit. If you haven't used an air fryer often check after cooking for 12 minutes and return for a few extra minutes if needed.

You will also need olive oil spray.  I use my pump spray that I can fill with olive oil.  You do not want to use cooking spray because the aerosol has an ingredient that can damage the air fryer.

How long do you air fry frozen biscuits?

Set air fryer to 320 degrees Fahrenheit and set timer for 14 minutes.  Check the biscuits at 12 minutes by carefully looking at the bottom of the biscuits.  The best way to do this is to use a pair of tongs to flip them over.  If the bottoms still look doughy, put them back in and cook for an additional 2 minutes.  There are many different brands of air fryers and they may work slightly differently.  Test cooking a couple of biscuits the first time if you are unsure.

    Expert Tips

    • Do not use parchment paper in the air fryer.  Air fryers work from the hot circulating air and the parchment will block the air so the food will not cook as evenly.
    • Do not over crowd your air fryer.  My basket comfortably fits 7 biscuits with no overlapping.  Place them in a single layer not touching so the hot air can circulate easily.
    • Store leftover biscuits at room temperature in an airtight container.

What to serve with Air Fryer Biscuits

We love lots of butter and honey on our air fryer biscuits.  You can also make a breakfast sandwich with cheese and a fried egg!  There's so many different ways to serve this side dish!
