    Key Ingredients

Almond milk - Think almond milk works so well with overnight oats. I love the subtle flavor and perfect if you want to reduce your dairy intake. Other milks can be used as well.

Honey - This is a great way to add a sweet flavor to the overnight oats without using any refined sugars.

Old fashioned Oats - Are the best type of oat for overnight oats. They absorb the liquid and soften perfectly without needing to be cooked.

Chia seeds - A simple way to add some extra nutrition to the overnight oats. They are high in fiber too.

Cinnamon - I love using cinnamon as a flavor. It has a subtle warmth and is perfect with the blueberries and almond flavors.

Blueberries - Blueberries are naturally sweet and perfect to use in overnight oats recipes.

Almonds - Another great way to add some extra flavor and crunch.

    Substitutions And Additions

    • Change what fruit you use - This is a recipe for blueberry overnight oats, but you can also use other fruit. Strawberries, raspberries, and banana.
    • Use frozen fruit instead - This recipe lends itself well to use frozen fruit as an alternative to fresh fruit.
    • Add yogurt - You could add some yogurt as an addition or substitution to the almond milk to give a protein boost.
    • Change the milk - Use your preferred milk, be that oat, other plant-based options or dairy.
    • Chocolate chips - You could add some chocolate chips to the overnight oats recipe. But be mindful of the increase in sugar.
    • Protein Powder- Mix in a scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder to add a boost of protein to the recipe.

How Long Are Over Night Oats Good For?

This is a perfect prep-ahead breakfast. It tastes good and is oh-so satisfying. The best part is that it will last refrigerated for up to five days.

Can You Heat Up Overnight Oats?

While overnight oats are meant to be eaten cold you can always warm them up. To heat them up place the jar in the microwave for 60-90 seconds or until they are warmed through.
