hot honey sauce- you can buy hot honey at the grocery store or make your own homemade hot honey recipe with just two simple ingredients ingredients.
step-by-step INSTRUCTIONS
If you are starting with fresh wings toss the wings with spices and place wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Spray well with an olive oil spray. Do not use a cooking spray in the air fryer.
Cook the wings for 10 minutes and then remove the basket and turn the wings over and set the air fryer for an additional 12-15 minutes. The air fryer will make extra crispy wings without the mess!

When the wings come out of the air fryer place them in a large bowl and drizzle with the spicy sauce. Take tongs and toss to coat the wings evenly. Plate the wings and serve with extra sauce.
If you do not have an air fryer
Let me be the first to say go buy an air fryer, you will thank me later. However, if you are reluctant to add yet another kitchen gadget to clutter the counter I do understand. So here's how you can make these wings in a conventional oven.
You will need a rimmed baking sheet and a wire rack to place the wings on. This way the fat from the wings will drip through the rack and the large baking sheet will catch the drippings. This is the best way to make crispy chicken wings. If they sit in the fat while they cook they will not crisp! You can even line the sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean up! To make these using the oven method cook in a 400 degree oven for 45-50 minutes. Flip the wigs every 15 minutes and check with a meat thermometer to insure they are cooked through.
Expert Tips
Taking the internal temperature - is the only way to insure that the wings are cooked properly. The safe temperature to serve chicken is 165 degrees according to the USDA.
If you are having a hard time finding wings at the store you can make this with boneless wings or even chicken thighs, You will just need to adjust the cooking temperature.
How to store leftover wings
I doubt there will be any leftovers but if there are you can store these in an airtight container in the refrigerator. You can reheat by placing in the air fryer for 4-5 minutes. If the wings have hot honey sauce on them when reheating put them on aluminum foil for easier clean up.
