Usually I need simple recipes for breakfast. Mornings can be hectic and making an easy smoothie is not only quick but healthy too! I have many smoothie recipes I make including a green smoothie, but I really love the fresh peach flavor of this blended smoothie.
Why this Banana Peach smoothie recipe is the best!
This is the best fruit smoothie recipe because it is made with fresh fruit that is frozen and then blended until smooth and creamy. It has just enough sweetness from the fruit and added honey. Perfect for a summer day or anytime you need a healthy breakfast or snack.
- Made with all natural and healthy ingredients.
- Great way to add a little protein from the Greek yogurt.
- Easy recipe that is quick to make for the perfect breakfast on the go.
Key Ingredients
Frozen bananas and peaches are key ingredients in this smoothie recipe. I buy fresh peaches in the summer during peach season when they are at their peak ripeness. To freeze peaches cut them into smaller pieces and then remove the pit. Then place the peach slices in a freezer bag to use for different recipes when needed.
I usually freeze ripe bananas too but if you need something quick you can always buy cut frozen fruit at the grocery store. A frozen banana is the best thing to add to a smoothie to get that perfect creamy texture.
Any Greek yogurt will work in this recipe. If you prefer fat free or whole milk, either may be used. You could even try flavored vanilla yogurt instead of plain. I prefer Greek yogurt because of the extra protein it contains.
I used plain low calorie almond milk but any milk will work perfectly. Try any of your favorites, soy milk, coconut milk or even oat milk! Remember the calorie content will change slightly depending on what you use.
Honey gives this smoothie recipe a little extra sweetness. You could omit the honey and rely on the natural sweetness from the fruit or use maple syrup or agave depending on what you prefer.
Chef’s Tips:
To make this smoothie creamy and smooth always use frozen fruit. Adding ice cubes will water down your smoothie and make it more icy than creamy.
You can always add hemp seeds, chia seeds, or flax seeds to the smoothie. All of these seeds have many great health benefits that you may need to include in your diet.
If you are needing extra protein in your diet you can add a scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder. You may find this will make thicker smoothies so add a bit more milk if needed.
