You'll fall in love more with this recipe because:

    • It uses simple deli and pantry staples.

    • Perfect for parties, potlucks, or when you have last-minute guests.
    • Its buttery topping adds restaurant-style flavor.
    • Excellent option for a quick appetizers or snack.

    Equipment Needed

    • Rimmed baking sheet
    • Parchment paper
    • Sauce pan or small microwave safe bowl
    • Whisk or fork
    • Pastry brush

    Key Ingredients

Ritz crackers - The main event. Crisp, buttery, and ideal for snacking.

Deli ham - Thin sliced would works best for easy layering.

Swiss cheese - It melts smoothly and has a mild and nutty flavor.

Unsalted butter - It helps forms the base of seasoned topping.

Honey and soy sauce - Add subtle sweetness and savory depth.

Garlic powder, onion powder, poppy seeds, and mustard powder - It creates a classic party sandwich seasoning blend.

    Step-By-Step Instructions

Start by preheating the oven. to 350℉ and line a rimmed baking tray with parchment paper.

Arrange half of the Ritz crackers in rows on the baking sheet.

Top each cracker with small piece of ham and a piece of Swiss cheese.

Place another Ritz cracker on top to form the sandwiches.

In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, poppy seeds, and mustard powder until well combined.

Brush the tops of the crackers generously with the butter mixture.

Bake for 9 to 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the tops are lightly browned.

    Make Ahead

Assembling the crackers sandwiches a few hours advance is fine. Store them covered in the refrigerator and only brush with the butter mixture just before baking to keep the crackers crisp.

    Storage

If there are leftover Ritz party cracker sandwiches can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat briefly in the oven at 325℉ to restore crispiness. Avoid microwaving as it can make the crackers soft.

    Substitutions and Additions

    • Cheese- I used Swiss cheese in this recipe, but feel free to try your favorite. Cheddar, American, Colby jack and Havarti would all work well.
    • Deli meat-you can easily switch this to turkey or any other deli meat you prefer.
    • Spices- use your favorite combinations of spices to give the crackers flavor.
