Equipment Needed
- Rimmed baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Hand mixer
- Measuring spoons
- A microwave-safe bowl for melting the chocolate.
- Rubber spatula or fork
Key Ingredients
Peanut butter—Choose the traditional, creamy peanut butter. Natural peanut butters might be too runny or oily.
Butter - It helps the filling become dough-like, and it adds richness to the mixture.
Powdered sugar - It adds sweetness to the mixture and balances the flavors of peanut butter and butter.
Pretzels - Choose a pretzel that can hold the filling. It can be square or twisted pretzels.
Dark chocolate melting wafers - Chocolate melting wafers are easy to melt and no need to temper the chocolate.

Step-By-Step Instructions
Start by lining a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Use a tray that will fit in your freezer.
Prepare the filling by beating the peanut butter and softened butter with a hand mixer until creamy. At a low speed, gradually mix in the powdered sugar. Keep mixing until it becomes dough-like.

Scoop about ½ tablespoon of the filling, roll it into a ball, and put it on top of the pretzel. Then, put another pretzel to sandwich the filling.
Put the tray in the freezer for at least 30 minutes. The peanut butter mixture will firm up, and it will be easier to dip it in the melted chocolate.

Melt the chocolate wafers in the microwave following the packaging directions. Dip each pretzel sandwich halfway into the chocolate. Let the excess chocolate drip off before returning it to the parchment paper.
Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature, or put it in the fridge to speed up the process.

Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites
Ingredients
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 60 pretzels
- 1 bag Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers
Instructions
- Line a rimmed baking sheet (that fits in your freezer) with parchment paper. Line up 30 pretzels on the sheet.
- Use a hand mixer to combine the peanut butter and butter.
- Add the powdered sugar in small increments and mix on low speed. Continue adding sugar slowly. The mixture will be thick and clumpy at first but will come together after 2 minutes of mixing.
- Use a ½ tablespoon to measure out the peanut butter mixture. Roll in your hands to form a ball. Mixture should not be sticky and will roll easily.
- Place peanut butter ball on top of pretzel. Repeat until all of the peanut butter mixture is used. I made 30 pretzels.
- Place a second pretzel on top of the peanut butter and gently press down. Once all of the pretzels are sandwiched place tray in freezer to set for 30 minutes.
- After the 30 minutes, melt the chocolate wafers in the microwave following the package instructions.
- Dip the peanut butter pretzels into the melted chocolate, shaking off any excess and place back on the parchment paper. Repeat until all pretzels are dipped and let set up on parchment paper. Once chocolate has hardened they can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for a week.
