Why You’ll Love These Sheet Pan Pancakes

I love mornings and breakfast is the most important meal of the day so why not make these delightful sheet pan pancakes and make breakfast feel extra special with just a few steps in less than 30 minutes?

If you're still deciding, here are some factors that might make you say yes to this recipe:

    • Easy preparation - no flipping guaranteed! Mix everything in one bowl and pour into one pan!
    • Can feed a crowd - Bake one batch, slice it, and share with everyone!
    • Even cooking - Every slice comes out fluffy and evenly cooked.
    • Excellent for meal prep - Cook once, store, and reheat throughout the week!

    Equipment Needed

    • Large mixing bowl
    • Whisk
    • Measuring spoons and cups
    • 9x13 inch rimmed baking sheet or jelly roll pan
    • Cooking spray

    Key Ingredients

Flour – I tested this recipe with all-purpose flour. Other flours may work but you will need to test the ratio of liquid to flour along with the bake times.

Baking Powder & Baking Soda – Helps your pancakes rise and stay fluffy.

Salt – A touch to balance out the sweetness.

Sugar – Just enough to sweeten things up.

Eggs – For structure and moisture.

Vanilla Extract – Adds a warm, fragrant note.

Melted Butter – Keeps the crumb rich and tender.

Whole Milk – Binds everything together with a creamy texture.

Add-ins (strawberry, blueberry, pecans, and chocolate chips): To add flavors and make the pancakes more appetizing!

This easy sheet pan pancakes recipe works well with almost any topping combo! Feel free to customize!

    Step-By-Step Instructions

Start by preheating the oven at 350°F (175°C). While doing so, generously grease the sheet pan with cooking spray, ensuring that all edges and corners are greased.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, baking powder, sugar, and salt).

Add the vanilla extract and cooled melted butter to the milk. It is important that the milk is room temperature so the butter doesn't solidify in cold milk.
Gradually pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients while whisking.

Add the eggs to the pancake batter and mix until everything comes together and there are no streaks of white flour remaining. To keep these pancakes light and fluffy, do not over mix. A few lumps are okay. If you have time let the batter sit for a few minutes before baking.

Pour the batter into the greased sheet pan and spread it out evenly.
Sprinkle your desired add-ins over the top and arrange them as you please.

Bake the sheet pan pancakes in the preheated oven for about 16-18 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden. Insert a toothpick; if it comes out clean, remove the pancakes from the oven.

Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.

    Serving Recommendations

Serve the oven baked pancakes with butter and maple syrup for the classic pancake experience. You can also add fresh fruits and dust the serving with powdered sugar. These delightful sheet pan pancakes also pair beautifully with a side of scrambled eggs, bacon, or even a Greek yogurt for a complete breakfast.

If you are planning a brunch and would like to have a few savory options to pair with the sheet pan pancakes, I recommend our favorite Hawaiian Roll Egg Breakfast Sliders or this make ahead Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole. These recipes are great for holidays when you are feeding a crowd.

    Make Ahead

This easy pancake recipe is an excellent meal prep choice! It can be made the night before and stored in the fridge. You can reheat it in an oven, toaster, or microwave for a grab-and-go breakfast.

    Storage

If there are leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze them for up to 2 months. If freezing, put a piece of parchment paper in between layers to prevent them from sticking.

    Expert Tips

    • Grease the pan generously. A well-greased pan ensures the pancakes release easily.
    • Avoid overmixing. Stop stirring when everything is well combined to keep the pancakes fluffy.
    • Customize the toppings based on your preferences for different sections of the pan to cater to everyone's favorites.
    • Use a metal pan, as it distributes heat more effectively than a glass pan, ensuring even baking.
