Why You’ll Love This BLT Salad Recipe!

Imagine all the cozy flavors of a classic BLT sandwich, deconstructed as a lively, colorful salad that brightens up any table. What’s not to love?

    • Crisp romaine and bursts of juicy grape tomatoes bring a refreshing crunch in every bite!
    • Golden crispy bacon for that smoky-salty punch.
    • A creamy, tangy dressing that brings all the flavors together in perfect harmony.
    • Quick and easy to make, 20 minutes will suffice!
    • Perfect as a satisfying main course or a flavorful side.

    Equipment Needed

    • Large salad bowl
    • Small mixing bowl
    • Whisk or fork
    • Knife and cutting board
    • Measuring spoons and cups

    Key Ingredients

    For the BLT dressing:

    • Mayonnaise - The rich, creamy base for the dressing.
    • Sour cream or Greek yogurt - Lightens the dressing for a balanced and tangy flavor.
    • Milk - It helps achieve the perfect dressing consistency!
    • Fresh lemon - Adds zing to enhance the flavors and adds brightness.
    • Dijon mustard - Adds a gentle kick and depth to the dressing.
    • Seasoned salt and cracked black pepper - It gives the dressing a savory balance.
    • Fresh parsley - Add a pop of color and freshness.

    For the BLT salad:

    • Romaine lettuce - Refreshing and crisp, it makes the perfect crunchy base for the salad.
    • Grape tomatoes - Juicy, sweet, and bursting with flavors that complement the bacon.
    • Croutons - They add texture and crunch, making every bite satisfying. You can by store-bought croutons or try this homemade crouton recipe that is so easy and tastes so much better than store bought!
    • Bacon - Smoky, salty, and crispy, the flavors that define the classic BLT flavor.

    Step-By-Step Instructions

Whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream or Greek yogurt, milk, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, seasoned salt, and black pepper and parsley in a small bowl. Adjust the milk to achieve the consistency you like for the dressing. Add to thin the consistency, and decrease the milk to make a thicker dressing.

Cook the bacon to your liking either by skillet or oven-baked method. Baking bacon in the oven is my favorite way because it is less messy and achieves perfectly crispy bacon every time.

Combine chopped romaine lettuce, halved grape tomatoes, croutons, and cooked bacon in a large salad bowl.

Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to ensuring everything is well coated.

    Serving Suggestions

You can enjoy this BLT salad as is, and you can also try the following:

    • Pair with grilled salmon or chicken for a hearty meal.
    • Add avocado for extra creaminess.
    • Sprinkle freshly cracked black pepper or fresh parsley for garnish.

    Make Ahead

You can prepare the BLT dressing a day in advance and store it in the fridge in an airtight container. If you make the homemade croutons they can be made several days in advance and stored in and airtight container at room temperature.

It is best to cook the bacon right before assembling the salad so it has the best crispy texture.
