    Expert Tips

    • Right measurement- Ensure you use the correct measuring technique when preparing the ingredients to achieve the perfect cookies. Always spoon the flour into the cups and level off with the edge of a knife.
    • Room temperature ingredients- Leave the butter and eggs on the counter to come to room temperature to achieve a smooth texture.
    • Do not overmix the dough- Stop mixing once the dry ingredients are fully incorporated into the wet ingredients. Overmixing will result in dense cookies.
    • Use a scoop- To make cookie dough balls uniform, use a scoop or weigh the dough based on your preference.
    • Freeze/refrigerate the dough- You can freeze the cookie dough balls for at least half an hour to maintain their shape.
    • More M&Ms- Add M&Ms on top before baking to make it look more festive and vibrant.
    • Do not overbake- If you want chewy cookies on the inside, pay attention to the cookies in the oven or use a timer. Overbaking will result in crispier and crumby cookies.

    Storage

Store in an airtight container for 2-3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

    Substitutions And Additions

Chocolate/Chocolate chips- You can use a different variation of chocolate chips, like dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate bars instead.

M&M's- You can add more M&Ms to each cookie dough ball before baking. To add extra texture, you can use M&M peanut or M&M rice crisps.

Nuts- you can always add crunch with chopped peanuts, pecans or walnuts.

    Ingredients

    • 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
    • 1 cup sugar
    • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
    • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 2 large eggs
    • 2 and ¾ cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 2 cups M&M candies
    • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 350° F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
    • In the bowl of a stand mixer add the room temperature butter and both types of sugar and beat on medium speed and soft and fluff.
    • Add the vanilla extract and both eggs one at a time and beating well between each egg.
    • Add the flour gradually along with the baking soda and salt. Be cautious to not over mix the cookie dough.
    • Using a spatula stir in the M&M's and chocolate chips.
    • Use a #40 cookie scoop to make a cookie dough ball. I made jumbo cookies by combining 2 balls into one large dough ball. These are very large cookies so leave plenty of room between. I fit 2 on a row with 3 rows on my cookie sheet. *see notes
    • Bake in preheated oven for 11-13 minutes. The cookies will need a few minutes to cool on the cookie sheet and then transfer to a cooling rack.
    • Once the cookies are completely cooled, store in an airtight container for 2-3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

    Notes

#40 cookie scoop is about 1.6 tablespoons of cookie dough so by combining two scoops we are making a large cookie that is approximately 3.2 tablespoons.  With these measurements you will get 18 cookies or you can make 36 smaller cookies.  Smaller cookies will need less baking time around 8-10 minutes.
