I am a chocoholic. I admit I have a major sweet tooth and I think that surprises people because I typically eat so healthy. My theory is to treat myself every once in a while and when I do- I go all out! I’m not going to have a cheat day on a mediocre dessert, it has to be one epic creation.
Milkshakes are great because they are easy to make and I don’t have leftovers lingering for days staring at me like a plate of cookies. I can drink my creamy rich Nutella milkshake and feel satisfied. If you are a milkshake fanatic too you have to check out my Boozy Cookie Butter Milkshake!
Ingredients iN a Nutella Milkshake
- chocolate ice cream
I left the liqueur choice open to your own preference. You can omit the liqueur all together and just add a splash more of milk. Or you can choose a few different options like a chocolate liqueur, Frangelico or even Bailey’s. There are so many different flavors to choose from that would be delicious. I like the Frangelico because it is an Italian liqueur made from hazelnuts which picked up on the hazelnut flavors of the Nutella perfectly!
How to make a milkshake
Whether you are making a Nutella milkshake or any other milkshake it is very easy! First, decorate the glasses by warming a little Nutella and running the rim of the glass in the Nutella. I also drizzled a little on the inside. It just makes it look so pretty! Second you add the rest of the ingredients to a blender. I love my blender because I just add the ingredients and give it a whirl and everything is evenly incorporated. It takes maybe 30 seconds to a minute. I would start with less milk and then add more if you want your shake more smooth.
Third, pour in your Nutella milkshake into the glasses and enjoy. This is easy enough anyone can make it and if you omit the liqueur the kids will love the rich chocolaty flavor!
Can I A make milkshake without a blender?
If you do not have a blender, you can still make this delicious milkshake. Skip decorating the rim of a glass and just add your ingredients to a large mason jar. With the lid off microwave for 20 seconds to soften the ice cream. With a spoon mix ingredients together. Securely tighten lid to mason jar and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. That’s all you need for a quick milkshake!
