    Equipment Needed

    • Mixing bowl
    • Whisk or hand mixer
    • Spatula
    • Serving dish

    Key Ingredients

Cream cheese - Use a softened cream cheese for easy mixing and a smooth and rich creamy base. Full fat is preferred for the best flavor.

Powdered sugar - Adds a touch of sweetness without having a grainy texture.

Cinnamon - Warm spice that brings a cozy feel. It complements the caramel and apple.

Maple or vanilla extract - To achieve a deeper layer of flavor. The maple is such a wonderful touch that pairs well with the caramel.

Caramel dip - Look for the caramel dip in the produce section. It comes in a tub and is made to be a little thicker than the caramel sundae topping sold in jars.

Peanuts and Heath bits - A crunchy topping and extra layer of crunch that makes this dip extra special. You can use one or the other or both!

Apple slices - Because every caramel apple dip recipe needs the perfect pairing. Use your favorite type of apple.

    Ingredients

    • 1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
    • ¼ cup powdered sugar
    • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
    • ½ teaspoon maple extract or vanilla extract
    • ½ cup caramel dip
    • 2 tablesppons Heath Bits
    • 2 tablespoons chopped peanuts
    • apple slices and other dippers

    Instructions

    • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. This is much easier to do if the cream cheese has been sitting out at room temperature. If you are pressed for time microwave on 50% power for 30 seconds at a time being cautious to not melt the cream cheese.
    • Add powdered sugar, cinnamon, and extract. Mix until well combined and fluffy. Spread the cream cheese mixture in the serving dish evenly.
    • Pour the caramel dip on top and smooth it out using a spatula. If it is too thick to pour, microwave for 15 second intervals and stir in between each interval until it loosens up a little.
    • Sprinkle the chopped peanuts and Heath bits on top of the caramel layer. Serve with the apple slices and enjoy!
