Rich Chocolate Brownie Batter Overnight Oats Recipe

Not only will this chocolatey brownie batter oatmeal cure your sweet tooth, it is a nutritious breakfast loaded with whole grains. If you have not tried overnight oats yet, this is a great recipe to add to your morning routine.

Ingredients

  • 1 and ½ cups almond milk
  • 4 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 6 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon espresso powder, optional
  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

Instructions

  • In a large bowl mix the almond milk, honey, cocoa powder, vanilla extract and espresso powder. Continue to stir until the cocoa powder has dissolved into the milk.
  • Add the oats, chia seeds and half of the chocolate chips. Once combined, portion the oat mixture into individual containers. Top with extra chocolate chips or other toppings if desired.
  • Cover the oats and place in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight for the best texture.
  • Serve cold after the oats soak.
