Red White And Blue Fruit Skewers
When the Fourth of July rolls around, I love making recipes that are simple but still steal the show. These patriotic red, white, and blue fruit skewers are bright, fresh, and unbelievably easy to make—yet they disappear from the platter faster than almost anything else at the party. Perfect for backyard barbecues, neighborhood block parties, or casual summer gatherings, these festive fruit kabobs always look impressive.

Wash the berries and pick through any that are bruised. Cut the tops off the strawberries. You will need 36 for the skewers.
Cut the angel food cake into small 1-inch cubes. I use a serrated knife to remove the browned edge so the white of the cake shows for the skewers.
Thread the strawberries, angel food cake and blueberries onto the skewers to create a red, white and blue pattern.
These can be made 2-4 hours in advance and covered with plastic wrap and refrigerated until ready to plate and serve.
