Maple Brown Sugar Overnight Oats is a delicious breakfast recipe made with a few simple ingredients. The sweet combination of maple and brown sugar is perfect with warm ground cinnamon and toasted pecans. This easy breakfast is perfect for busy mornings. Ingredients

  • 2 cups old-fashioned
  • 1 and ½ cups almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • teaspoon ginger
  • 3 tablespoons pecans, toasted optional *see notes
  • ½ teaspoon maple extract, optional or vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a large bowl mix together the oats, almond milk, chia seeds and maple extract.
  • Portion the mixture into 3 single serving containers like mason jars. Make sure to add all of the milk to the oats.
  • Stir together the maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon and ginger. Add a spoonful to each serving of overnight oats.
  • Add pecans (toasting optional) to the top of the overnight oats. Secure lid and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight.

Notes

Pecans can be toasted in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes.  Shake the baking pan every couple of minutes until golden and fragrant.  Or toast the pecans in a dry skillet over low heat, stirring continuously for 5 minutes.
