Equipment

  • 9x13 casserole dish

Ingredients

  • 1 package King's Hawaiian rolls
  • 6 pieces colby jack cheese slices
  • 8 large eggs
  • cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • chives, minced
  • 8 turkey sausage patties, or pork
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Keep the sliders together but use a serrated knife to slice through the rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half of the buns in the casserole dish.
  • Add the 6 slices of cheese to the buns. Set aside while preparing the eggs.
  • In a large bowl, crack the eggs and scramble using a whisk.
  • Spray the skillet with cooking spray and add the scrambled eggs. Cook eggs using a spatula to continuously stir. Be careful to not over cook the eggs because they will continue to cook in the oven. Remove from heat and stir in the chives and cheddar cheese.
  • Add the turkey sausage patties to the top of the cheese layer. Spoon the cooked scrambled eggs over the top of the sausage patties. Add the top of Hawaiian rolls back on top to make the slider.
  • Brush the tops of the rolls with the melted butter and maple syrup mixture. If you do not have a brush, drizzle over the tops and use the back of a spoon to spread the mixture over the rolls.
  • Wrap with aluminum foil and bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Notes

You can definitely make these Hawaiian Roll egg breakfast sliders ahead of time. Simply assemble the sliders to the point before adding the glaze and refrigerate. Just before baking in the oven, you can add the glaze. You could prep this the night before ready for a delicious breakfast in the morning.
