Ingredients

  • 16 ounces pretzels
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cut into cubes (1 stick)
  • cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ teapoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 4 ounces Heath Bits

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 200° F. Line two large rimmed baking trays with parchment paper. Spray lightly with non-stick spray.
  • Over medium heat add the butter to a medium sized sauce pan. Stir in the brown sugar, corn syrup, brown sugar and salt.
  • Occasionally stir and watch the butter mixture to start to bubble. Start timer for 5 minutes and continue to stir.
  • Once the mixture has boiled for 5 minutes, remove from heat and stir in the baking soda. You will see a reaction as the toffee will thicken.
  • Working quickly pour the toffee over the pretzels while stirring to coat as evenly as possible.
  • Spread over 2 baking sheets and place in preheated oven. Sprinkle half of the Healthy Bits over the pretzels. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. This will help evenly coat the pretzels with the toffee.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle the remaining Health Bits over the pretzels. Break up any large clumps. Allow to cool for an hour at room temperature.
  • Do not store until completely cooled. Store in an airtight container.
