Cottage Cheese Toast

Cottage cheese toast is a quick and easy breakfast, lunch or snack that can be prepared in just 5 minutes. Not only is this a great meal when you are short on time it is extremely healthy because cottage cheese is a low calorie, high protein cheese.

Equipment

  • toaster or toaster oven

Ingredients

Toast

  • 1 slice whole wheat bread
  • ¼ cup cottage cheese

Strawberry Toast

  • sliced strawberries, drizzle of honey, a sprinkle of cinnamon and chia seeds

Granola Toast

  • granola, dried cranberries, slivered almonds and drizzle of honey

Tomato Toast

  • sliced tomatoes, drizzle of balsamic glaze, salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Toast bread slice. Spread toast with cottage cheese.
  • Choose toppings and arrange on top of cottage cheese as desired.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

Nutritional information is for bread and cottage cheese only.  
To pack for lunch at work or school this is only recommended if you have a toaster on site and can pack everything separately and assemble before eating.  Otherwise the bread will become soggy.
