Olive Oil Bread Dip

This easy olive oil bread dip comes together in just five minutes with simple pantry staples, yet feels like something you’d get at a cozy Italian restaurant. You can even mix up the spice blend ahead of time and keep it on hand, so when you’re ready to serve all you have to do is add it to olive oil. It’s perfect with an Italian dinner, pasta night, or honestly alongside just about any meal when you want a little something extra on the table without the work.

Ingredients

Spice Blend

  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon course sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper

For Serving

  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1-2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
  • crusty baguette, sliced and toasted

Instructions

Spice Blend

  • Mix together all of the dried ingredients for the spice blend. Add the ingredients to a clean glass jar. This will keep for up to 6 months when stored in an airtight container in a cool dark place.

For Serving

  • Add a ½ cup of olive oil to a shallow bowl or rimmed plate. Add ½-1 teaspoons spice blend along with other additions as desired. Serve with crusty baguette or Italian bread for dipping.
