Easy Charred Corn Recipe (Blackened In Skillet)

Charred corn is the perfect side dish to go with tacos, burgers or any cook out meal. Charring corn takes only minutes and requires only a few simple ingredients!

Equipment

  • cast iron skillet

Ingredients

  • 2 cups corn (fresh, frozen or canned)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ¼ teaspoon seasoned salt
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika

Optional Garnishes

  • cilantro
  • lime wedges

Instructions

  • If using fresh corn, cut off of the corn cob using a sharp knife. If using frozen corn thaw under running water and pat dry with a paper towel. To use canned corn, drain liquid from the can and pat dry with paper towel.
  • Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Add the butter to melt and once the skillet is very hot add the corn, seasoned salt, black pepper and paprika.
  • Stir frequently allowing the corn to char evenly. This will take about 4-5 minutes.
  • Serve corn with cilantro and lime wedges if desired.
