Equipment

  • food processor

Ingredients

  • 1 12 ounce bag fresh cranberries
  • 1-2 jalapenos, seeds removed removed
  • 1-2 green onions
  • ¼ cup cilantro leaves
  • ¼ cup parsley leaves
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • ½ teaspoon orange zest
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 8 ounce block cream cheese
  • crackers, pretzels, crostini for dipping

Instructions

  • Wash the cranberries and add to the base of a food processor.
  • Cut the jalapeno in half to remove the seeds and chop the jalapeno into a few pieces. Slice the green onion and add to the food processor.
  • Add parsley, cilantro orange zest, orange juice, and sugar to the food processor.
  • Pulse several times until all ingredients are chopped finely.
  • Refrigerate for at least a few hours before serving. Pour cranberry salsa over a block of room temperature cream cheese.

Notes

    • You can strain the cranberry salsa mix to drain it of any excess moisture.
    • Make this to suite your tastes. I added only one jalapeno but you can always add more if you like more heat.
    • You can substitute the orange juice for lemon juice or fresh lime juice if needed.
  • nutritional information includes cream cheese but not the crackers or other items used for dunking.
