Vodka Spritzer

A cranberry vodka spritzer is a festive holiday drink perfect for entertaining around the holidays.  It has bright beautiful colors from the cranberry syrup and just a little bit of bubbles from the club soda!  This drink is the perfect way to use up the leftover cranberry sauce from dinner!

Equipment

  • fine mesh sieve
  • cocktail shaker

Ingredients

Cranberry Syrup

  • 1 cup cranberry relish
  • 1 cup water

Vodka Spritzer

  • 2 ounces cranberry syrup
  • 3 ounces vodka
  • club soda
  • 1 navel orange, cut into slices or use peel to make a twist

Instructions

Cranberry Syrup

  • Add relish and water to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Use a fine mesh sieve to strain the cranberry syrup, removing any peel. This will make it very smooth.

Vodka Spritzer

  • Add vodka and 2 ounces of cranberry syrup to a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds. Pour into 2 glasses with ice.
  • If desired garnish with fresh cranberries, orange slices or an orange twist.

Notes

  • Cranberry syrup will last for 2 weeks stored in the refrigerator.  
  • One cup of cranberry sauce will make enough for approximately 4 drinks.
