How To Grill Frozen Corn

Fresh corn on the cob is one of the best things about summertime. But did you know, you can enjoy that delicious flavor any time of the year? Frozen corn cooks perfectly on the grill to eat as a side dish or additions to my bean dip or mango salsa recipes! Try this frozen corn on the cob recipe to have that roasted corn flavor all year.

Equipment

  • charcoal or propane grill, or grill pan

Ingredients

  • 8 ears corn
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • sea salt, to taste
  • cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  • Heat outdoor grill or grill pan to medium high heat.
  • Brush frozen corn with olive oil.
  • Place corn directly on the hot grill grates. Keep the grill lid closed, checking the corn and rotating every 2-3 minutes. This will insures the corn cooks evenly.
  • Remove from the grill and season with salt, pepper and pats of butter if desired.

Do You Need To Thaw Frozen Corn On The Cob Before Using?
No! Frozen corn cobs can be grilled straight from the freezer.
Should Corn On The Cob Be Soaked In Water Before Grilling?
No, soaking corn in water before grilling is not necessary. If you are purchasing frozen corn from the store it was blanched before packaged and frozen.
How Do You Know Corn Is Done On The Grill?
After the corn has developed a few grill marks and the kernels are tender when pierced with a fork the corn is cooked sufficiently.
