How you prep your grill before you put your food on is crucial. Start by heating your grill on high heat to help burn off any food bits. After it has been heated for 10 to 15 minutes clean your grill thoroughly, either with a metal brush or a cleaning stone.
Not all grates will be non stick. This is a great trick to try before placing the food on the grill: use a balled up paper towel dipped in oil with a pair of tongs to add a good lubrication. This will help prevent your food from sticking.
