What Does Blackened Chicken Mean?

Blackening is a cooking technique that adds lots of flavor.

Ingredients are a spice mixture that creates the blackened look on the chicken. 

Rub the chicken to completely coat with the spices.   

Heat a skillet and add butter.  Cast iron is the best for blackening.  

Cook the chicken on both sides for 4-5 minutes.  

The seasoning creates a crust on the chicken.  

Many confuse this with being burnt but is a delicious flavorful way to prepare chicken and other meats.
